Statement from Oyo Governorship candidate who allegedly removed transformer he donated to community because he lost
This morning, we read that the PDP governorship candidate in Oyo state,
Teslim Folarin, allegedly removed a transformer he donated to a
community after he lost in the election. (read here). Well. he just released a statement saying it's not true. Read below...
It is with sadness that I learnt of a particular incident which purportedly took place in the Sabo area of Ibadan on Sunday. I understand that a transformer which I had donated to the community was the subject of controversy between the youths of the area and some leaders with either side accusing the other of trying to sell the transformer. The PDP youths in the area subsequently took the transformer to a safe place within Sabo area itself pending an amicable resolution which I understand was resolved by the leaders of the community.
Alison-Madueke denies that six countries turned down her asylum request
This evening Sahara Reporters published a blockbuster report they got
from Business Council for Africa (BCA) claiming that Petroleum Minister,
Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke, has been denied asylum by six countries
where she had so far applied. The report claims she's looking for a
country to run to before Gen. Buhari takes over as president because
she's scared she might be probed or jailed.
But reacting this evening, Alison-Madueke, through the Group Public Affairs GM of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Mr. Ohi Alegbe, said there's absolutely nothing of such happening. She said she has no intentions of either seeking asylum anywhere in the world or even relocating from Nigeria

Buhari will reduce petrol to N40/L - Tam David-West says
Former Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Prof. Tam David-West, in a telephone conversation with Vanguard said Buhari will reduce the current fuel price which is N87 to about N40 per litre when he becomes
president.
“I want to assure you that by the time he takes over, petrol will be dispensed at N40 per litre. This is possible and he has the credibility to make it work. The major assignment of the president-elect when he's eventually inaugurated is to restore confidence to the industry. As military head of state, he dealt with the Federal Executive Council with the tenets of democracy. Buhari will build new refineries to make petroleum products available for the masses. No responsible government will allow the masses to suffer. He will strengthen the refineries within a year. It is possible as we won’t spend any amount in setting up a green field refinery. We already have a blueprint as we shall use what we have to getwhat we want." He said

Pic: North Korea First Lady makes first public appearance in 2015
People were beginning to think he'd killed her...:-). Well, he killed
his uncle and girlfriend, so don't blame anyone for thinking he may have
done same to his wife. North Korea's First Lady, Ri Sol-j, has been
spotted out in public for the first time in 2015. The last time she was
seen in public was in December 2014 at a ceremony commemorating the
death of her husband's father, Kim Jong-il.
Ri Sol-J joined her husband, Kim Jong-un and other senior officials at a football game celebrating Kim's grandfather's birthday recently. North Korea's official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, carried a picture of the smiling couple on its front page, so everyone knows she's alive and well.. :-)

Nigerian OAP Adaeze Ayoka kidnapped & allegedly raped in Ghana
Popular OAP, Adaeze Onyinyechie Ayoka, born to a Ghanaian mother and
Nigerian father from Abia state, was reportedly kidnapped a few days ago
and allegedly raped by her abductors. According to media reports, her
colleagues said the last time they heard from her was Easter Friday but
when they didn't see her throughout last week, they declared her missing
yesterday Monday April 13th.
Last night, her abductors reportedly posted nude photos of Adaeze to her Whatsapp and Facebook page using her phone. People who claimed to have seen the photos claim three men, who didn't show their faces, pinned Adaeze down and opened her legs, and said they'd taken turns on her.
The alleged photos (I have now seen a photo - sad) supposedly went viral on Ghanian social media space. A colleague of the victim contacted Facebook who immediately shut down her Facebook page.
Adaeze was reportedly released late yesterday/early this morning by her abductors and is currently on admission in a hospital in Ghana.

One year after - we remember Nyanya Abuja bomb victims
On the morning of April 14th, 2014, two bombs exploded at a crowded bus
station in Nyanya, Abuja, killing 88 people and injuring at least 200.
It's so far the deadliest terrorist attack in the Federal Capital
Territory. One year after, we remember the victims and families who lost
loved ones. Hopefully, the incoming administration will do something to
stop terrorism in Nigeria.

You will die if you fail to vote Ambode - Oba of Lagos threatens Igbos in Lagos
Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu has threatened Igbos in Lagos, saying any Ibo man or
woman who fails to vote Lagos state APC governorship candidate,
Akinwunmi Ambode as Governor in next Saturday's
governorship election will die within 7 days. According to Oba Akiolu,
he owns Lagos and his bidding must be done by everyone in the
state.

Daily Independent reports that Oba Akiolu gave out the threat when he met with Igbo leaders resident in Lagos at his Palace yesterday April 5th.
"On Saturday, if any one of you goes against Ambode who I picked, that is your end. If it doesn’t happen within seven days, just know that I am a bastard and its not my father who gave birth to me. By the grace of God, I am the owner of Lagos for the time being. This is an undivided chair. The palace belongs to the dead and those coming in the future. On Saturday, if anyone of you, I swear in the name of God, goes against my wish that Ambode will be the next governor of Lagos state, the person is going to die inside this water.
Jimi Agbaje's response to calls for Lagos to be politically aligned with the Federal Government
From the office of the Lagos Gubernatorial candidate for the PDP, Jimi Agbaje. Read below...
Dear People of Lagos, you've probably heard the new rhetoric that the APCs spin-masters have been spewing out in the last couple of days stating that if Lagos is in the opposition, the Federal Government will deny Lagos a lot of benefits. Just yesterday, a few well meaning Lagosians had sent us Facebook and SMS messages asking for my take on this issue so I've decided to speak up.
First, I wonder about the soundness of this argument especially after listening to President-elect General Buhari's acceptance speech where he clearly stated " There shall no longer be a ruling party again... We shall never rule over the people as if they were subservient to government".
I have been threatened for campaigning for GEJ - Ifeanyi Uba says
Coordinator of the Transformation Agenda of Nigeria, TAN, Ifeanyi
Uba has alleged threat to his life by some unknown persons for
canvassing support for President Jonathan. At a press
conference held yesterday in Lagos, Mr Uba said himself and his family have
faced various threats from unknown persons in recent times. He also
alleged that his businesses in Lagos have also faced some threats as
well and that he has reported the threats to the appropriate
authority.
Mr Uba also addressed insinuations that he
plans to lead Ibo traders to the Oba of Lagos palace to pledge their
support for APC Governorship candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode. According to
him, there is no truth to this allegation.

Buhari's govt may be vicious - Asari says, threatens to go back to the creeks
Ex Niger Delta militant, Asari Dokubo says the emergence of Gen
Buhari as the President of Nigeria in last Saturday's presidential
election may signify the birth of a vicious government which may maim
and murder the voice of the minority ethnic groups in Nigeria. Asari
expressed his fears in a statement released by his spokesperson, Rex
Anigoro yesterday April 1st.
"The conditions that advanced the need to embrace the creeks have been sadly re-energised. It is clear that a vicious government who may maim and murder the voice of the so-called minorities may have just been birthed. Indeed integration is non-existent as regional gang-ups and supremacy is symbolic with this victory" the statement read.
Obasanjo writes Gen. Buhari a letter
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has written the President elect, Gen
Buhari a letter. In the letter, Chief Obasanjo charged Gen.
Buhari to embark on reforming all of Nigeria's national institutions,
particularly the military. The full text of the letter below...
I hasten to congratulate you on your success and victory in the Presidential Elections of March 28, 2015. Your success and victory after three previous unsuccessful attempts must be great object lessons for you and for all politicians, particularly in Nigeria. For me, the totality of 2015 elections hold many lessons for our democracy and democratisation process, which are both maturing. On this occasion, the system has been unnecessarily overheated before and particularly during the campaigns when emphasis was more on trivialities and hate, divisive, undignifying and disrespectful statements and comments rather than on pressing issues requiring attention.
Must read! How Jonathan lost the Nigerian election - UK Guardian
UK Guardian's
Max Siollun writes on the five major reasons President Jonathan lost
the 2015 presidential elections. It's an interesting read. Find below...
Goodluck Jonathan has earned the dubious distinction of being the first president in Nigerian history to lose an election. In many ways, Jonathan was the architect of his own downfall. He made critical mistakes that turned the public and allies against him, and led them to gravitate towards the opposition. Here’s where it all went wrong: Continue...

Presidential election result: PDP says it would be heading to court
The ruling party, PDP says it would be challenging the results of
the 2015 Presidential election. Dr Bello Fadile, the PDP agent who
refused to sign the result sheet when called up by INEC Chairman, Prof
Jega, told journalists in Abuja this morning that his signing the result
sheet was inconsequential as they will be heading to court
"Whether I sign it (the result sheet) or I don’t sign it, does not make any difference. It doesn’t invalidate the result. When we go to court, then we can challenge the result,” he said.Dr Bello spoke on the affirmative that the party would be heading to the tribunal
"Sure! The party petitioned. Don’t forget. So the party will follow through the petition. There are rules for this. The law is there. The result was declared on the 1st of April, I think. We will follow the due process. Like the president (Jonathan) said, ‘If you have any grievances, follow due process and the due process in this instance is to go to the tribunal.”he said
Orubebe apologizes for his behaviour yesterday, says he regrets it

”Election is a passionate thing and I really regret what took place this morning. I was unnecessarily pushed by Jega to get to that level. I want to apologise particularly to young Nigerians that look up to take politics as a career to say that what happened was
not intended to cause them any embarrassment.
To Nigerians generally, I regret my actions as even an elder in the church, and a leader, the young men expected to see a lot from me and I believe that if there was any disappointment they got from me I apologize to Nigerians and to the youths of this country.”

Agbaje promises to reduce cost of land
The Peoples Democratic Party governorship
candidate in Lagos State, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, says in order to meet the
growing demand for accommodation in Lagos State, he will make the cost
of land virtually free if elected governor.
Agbaje said this at a fundraising dinner titled, “An evening of interaction and dinner with Jimi Agbaje” in Lagos.
He said Lagos had a housing deficit of
over two million and his target was to ensure that at least 200,000
housing units are built yearly.
He said, “We have to encourage housing
because Lagos will become a slum if we do not address the issue. Lagos
needs over two million housing units and that is an average of getting
200,000 every year. We have to encourage people to invest in housing and
that means we have to improve the issue of how you get your
construction permits.

Adeoye Akinsanya in his book, An introduction to Political Science in Nigeria, reports: “In 1983, when Chadian forces invaded Nigeria in the Borno State, Buhari used the forces under his command to chase them out of the country, crossing into Chadian territory in spite of an order given by then President Shagari to withdraw. This 1983 Chadian military affair led to more than 100 victims and "prisoners of war". Chivalrous as this act may have seemed at the time, it would turn out to be sheer tomfoolery because for a long time, Nigeria would have to deal with a lack-lustre, if not even frosty, relationship with her close regional neighbours.

But other nationalities can simply walk in and exceptions are made
if an African is accompanied by someone of another nationality. Kenyans
