Strong indications have emerged that the leadership of All
Progressives Congress in Lagos have acquiesced to the request of
Christians in the state for a Christian governor in 2015. The candidate
of choice is Ayo Gbeleyi, the present Commissioner of Finance in the
administration of quintessential Governor Babatunde Fashola.
The decision to present a Christian candidate emerged after due
consultations with eminent Christian leaders and clerics who have
promised to mobilise other faithfuls to vote enmasse for the party if a
Christian emerges as gubernatorial candidate in the state. The
leadership of the APC, after a thorough search, have
found a willing and reliable Christian candidate in Ayo Gbeleyi, a
thoroughbred professional known for his exceptional brilliance and
intelligence.
Since the searchlight has beamed on Gbeleyi, Christian leaders are
delighted that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has not only heeded to their
demands but responded accordingly.

Saheed Balogun reportedly drags wife fathia to court over name
According to unconfirmed reports, popular actor Saheed Balogun has
dragged his ex-wife actress Fathia Balogun to court over the use of his
name, Balogun, insisting that she drops it. The two were married for
many years before ending their union, which produced three children, a
few years ago.
Saheed has been trying for years to get Fathia to revert to her maiden name but Fathia has always insisted she made a career using the name and has no plans to ever drop it.
Saheed was quoted to have said: “She is my ex. As for my name that she is still answering, the deed will be done soon. The Nigerian law says that after three or four years, you can do something about it. If somebody wants to keep my name, what of the new person coming in? This has nothing to do with grudges.

"My name is Fathia Balogun and it’s going to remain Balogun for life. Nobody can ever change that or stop me from answering that name" She said in an interview in 2011.Well, now Saheed has reportedly gone to court to get her to drop the name. Can the courts really force her to drop her ex-husband's name? And why is Saheed so insistent on this, how does it affect him?

Here Is Bola Tinubu's Stand On The New APC
National Leader of All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola
Tinubu, says the party is not about himself, General Buhari or any
leader of the APC, but about the nation and the need and commitment to
rescue Nigeria from inept leadership.
Former Governor Tinubu, in response to a question about the significance of the five former PDP governors who joined the APC recently and the implications for Nigeria, said, "The APC is not about Tinubu, Buhari
or any of its leaders. It is about the nation and how we can come together and work together to rescue Nigeria. The implication is change. We want to change the way things are done by working together and investing our ideas. We must change the way we do things.

"Imagine from the 60's till date. The cutlass of the 60s cannot be used
for farming now. We need leaders that can think outside the box."
The AP leader spoke at the 2012/2013 Call to Bar ceremony of the Nigeria Law School which held in Abuja on Friday at the International Conference Center.
"Nigeria needs a democratic revolution that will unleash infrastructural development and massive industrialization. Nigeria is a blessed nation with talented youth, whose potentials must be harnessed for the development of our country. The lamentations must stop. After so many years of lamentation, with action we must lead the new resolve to rally for the much needed change our country badly needs," Tinubu said.
Tinubu condemned the posture of the government to the continued strike by ASUU and said we should be more concerned about losing more brains to the outside world.
"We are not in a military era. The language used shows a government out of tune with the general feelings of the people of this country. Nigeria cannot continue to afford to lose her best brains to the diaspora," he
concluded.

Why I'm Still Single Despite Everything ––BBA's Karen Igho
BBA winner, Karen Igho is really waiting patiently for her "real husband". Below is her latest rants...
"My celebrity status attracts and it scares men away too. It scares some because not every man can handle or understand fame. It takes a strong and understanding man to be able to be with a female celebrity. The attracting aspect comes from when they just want to be with you because they want to be able to say ‘I’ve been with Karen Igho.’ It takes God’s grace to be able to sift the chaff from the wheat.
Opposition to a Drunken Kleptocracy: Why We Should Join APC
Jonathan is so bad, that he makes APC look like angels. Anyone that is
in opposition to this Jonathan’s worst government in the history of
Nigeria and perhaps the world, is labeled APC. Why bother rejecting the
label, I now accept it. Opposition = APC, I am APC then. Finish. What
more will they say? Infact, this Johnnie and his angels’ (like Charlie
and his angels) administration is so terrible… they say, good, better,
best. Or bad, badder, baddest.
This is the baddestest administration conceivable. Anything that can get
this over, now if possible, but definitely no later than 2015 is
divine. 544 days to go. Hah!
God Queries Me Whenever Politicians Visit Me ––TB Joshua
Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua of the Synagogue Church of all Nations
spoke with Punch's Bosede Olusola-Obasa on myriads of controversies
surrounding his person and ministry. Read the chat below...
People say that you are very humble despite your popularity, how do you achieve this?
If you have passed through what I have passed through, you will even be more humble than I am.
Like what? Things that can make people to be humble. You just think of it. I have good health and God shows me what I would have been in terms of sickness and death; it humbles me and I want to use my good health for him. At times, God shows me how people are suffering and the thought that it could have been me keeps me humble. For instance, if I did anything wrong during this interview, when you may have left, God will caution me. If I am not humble, I will be out of track. If I was not in the house of God, I would be one of the touts in the motor parks (the Agberos)
Why is it that your ministry seems to be more popular outside Nigeria than in Nigeria?
I want to offer the same prayer for you: that God should make you more popular outside your country than in your country. Let other countries introduce you to your country. I think that is better. As it is written in the Bible, a prophet has no honour in his country. I am not an evangelist or a pastor, I am a prophet. It is the word prophet that was used in that scriptural passage, not evangelist or so. If my people had understood the work from the beginning, it could have affected the glory of God in my life today. If people understand your vision from the beginning, you may not go far. It is better they don’t, they will understand later and by then, you would have been very strong and God would have strengthened your desire. Praises and adoration can make you a local champion.

Where are you from?
Where are you from?
I am from Nigeria.
What part of Nigeria are you from?
I think the fact that I said I’m from Nigeria is okay. Anyway my father is Lebanese while my mother is from Ebonyi State.
Would you mind acting semi-nude, or being specific, on pant and bra?
I don’t mind, if the money is right, why not? The
problem with Nigerians is that most of us are hypocrites. This same pant
and bra is the reason some of them buy or rent Hollywood movies. What
is wrong in someone being free, doing his or her job? Some actresses
would want to act a role but they will be like, I don’t want to be
criticized. I don’t believe in all that.I think the fact that I said I’m from Nigeria is okay. Anyway my father is Lebanese while my mother is from Ebonyi State.

Nollywood Drama: Genevieve Nnaji & Omotola Jalade Still Battling For Supremacy?
supremacy between top actresses Genevieve Nnaji and Omotola
Jalade-Ekeinde dragged for many years, before they played alongside each
other in the award winning movie, Ije, a development that made people
to conclude that both parties have let the sleeping dog lie.
It was believed that the two movie stars have become friends when the National President of Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Ibinabo Fiberesima stepped into all the grievances between the actresses shortly after her inauguration.
However, investigations show that the beautiful Nollywood actresses are still not friends. Recall that Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde was named Most Influential Nigerian by Time Magazine early this year. As it could be, Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN), the guild where the actress has remained loyal to for many years decided to celebrate and honour her.
Guess what? Genevieve Nnaji was not only absent from the event but also close friends disclosed that she was angry for the accolades showered on Omotola. Sources say the Imo born screen diva is still angry with the organisers of the event till today.
Again, the talented actress, Ms. Genevieve was among the lucky Nollywood practitioners who were honored on Wednesday November 27, 2013 at Grand Awards of Nollywood @20, a situation that has been questioned by many people from Omotola’s camp. According to them, Genevieve is not supposed to be honored for her contributions in movie industry without Omotola’s name appearing on the same list. “Omotola’s name was omitted.” They say.
Simply because Omotola’s name was not in the list, she was nowhere near the venue of this grand event, as an invitation must have been sent to her weeks before yesterday.
There are strong speculations that Omotola’s name was intentionally omitted from the event to bring Genevieve Nnaji back.

Why PDP Lawmakers Who Join APC Won’t Lose Their Seats
“We have read reports that members of the National Assembly that follow us to APC will lose their seats. This cannot happen as it will be at variance with the relevant sections of our Constitution and electoral laws that guarantee the safety of the members of the National Assembly once their parent party is in crisis as PDP is at the moment.
“For the avoidance of doubt, there is no danger of their losing their seats as made clear by sections 68(1)(g) and 109(1)(g) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) in relation to the status of members of a legislative house (state and national) who defect from the political parties from which they were elected to join another political party.”

Rapper Ice Prince explains why he initially denied having a son
In an interview with Entertainment Express Showbiz Plus, Ice Prince explains why he initially denied having a son when the news made headlines in March 2012.
"It was complicated back then, I didn’t really know what was happening and I wasn’t sure of certain things. So the best I had to do then was deny it and sort out things first. Now I know he is my child and I have done everything as a father ever since.
Ice Prince also explains his relationship with his baby mama, Bimbo Babatunde.

US rapper Wale explains why he's never been to Nigeria until now
In a radio chat with Toolz on Beatfm yesterday, Wale said the reason
he's never been to Nigeria until now was because his parents, who are
both from Ondo state, were so poor they couldn't afford a bring him
home.
"I grew up poor. We lived in DC, in the projects. Getting a ticket to Nigeria on $20, 000 income yearly, to my family that wasn't really... you know...like I was a 15 year old with a decent job, I'm not going to save up to go to Nigeria. That wasn't what I was thinking when I was that age. And then I was in college and the money tight right then. And then I get this record deal when I dropped out of school, you're running around so much you don't even have time to see your own parents"
Stella Oduah’s armoured cars will buy 51 police patrol vehicles' -Gov Fashola
During the 7th annual Town Hall Meeting on Security held in Lagos,
Governor Fashola said the two BMW cars bought for Stella Oduah will
purchase 51 patrol vehicles for the
Nigerian Police.
“It is sad to know that the Federal Government that allocate three patrol vehicles for one state police command of 370, 000 police men, is unable to resolve how N255 million was used to purchase 2 saloon vehicles for one officer. It is a very grave irony. The cost of average vehicle needed to patrol the state is just N5 million. And with such fund, we will have put at least 51 patrol vehicles on the road, patrolling the streets of Lagos.”"In spite of all this, they resist the idea of a state police. The money from the fund was in the last one year used to provide vehicles for the Nigerian Prison Service, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, National Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC and indeed the airport wing of the Nigerian police, is funded from this money. And it is the same aviation ministry that manage the airport that we had this very odious car scandal of N255 million.”

Tony Anenih Cries Out: Our Governors Move To APC Is Painful
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party,
Chief Tony Anenih, has described the defection of five governors of the
party to the All Progressives Congress as a very painful development.
“Indeed, I had expected the governors to stay on in the party which offered them a unique opportunity to serve their people. Surprisingly, they decided to abandon their home and platform to take up tenancy in an opposition party even when it was apparent that the effort of Mr. President for genuine reconciliation was enough for them to see good reason to show restraint and understanding."

What a shame! Gov Oshiomhole tells a crying widow to 'go and die'!
You're a widow, go and die!" That's what Governor Adams Oshiomhole said
to widow during a sanitation exercise of Benin City with some state
officials recently. The woman was hawking on the road side which is
illegal in the state but to tell her to go and die after she knelt in front of him, crying and begging him not to seize her little means of livelihood, is just cold-hearted.
Shame on you Mr Governor! I'm so mad at the way he treated this woman. Wasn't he once a labour leader? Are these the kind of leaders we have? No compassion, no kindness? What a damn shame! See the video after the cut..

ASUU Says Jonathan Is A Joker, Insists Threat Can't End Strike
The Goodluck Jonathan administration has given the Academic Staff Union

or risk mass sack. The directive was given on Thursday on behalf of the

Why Jonathan Should Start Preparing To Vacate Aso Rock
Late Tuesday morning, at about 11:46, the National Chairman of the New
Peoples Democratic Party, nPDP, Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje, formally
announced the merger of the party with the All Progressives Congress
(APC). The merger was contained in a communiqué which Alhaji Baraje read
to journalists at the end of a meeting between the leadership of New
PDP and that of the APC held at the Kano Governor’s Lodge in Abuja.
The communiqué signed by Bisi Akande the APC National Chairman and Kawu
Abubakar Baraje the National Chairman of NPDP reads, “A meeting of the
leadership of All Progressives Congress, APC, and the new PDP met this
morning at the residence of the Kano State Governor, Dr. Rabiu Musa
Kwankwaso, in Abuja and after exhaustive deliberations the two parties
agreed to merge in order to rescue our fledgling democracy and the
nation”
Now, we have reached the stage that we can only say: “PDP, your sinking ship has been abandoned to you! You brought this misfortune upon yourself, now you must bear it alone!”
