Anambra election ends without a winner

The controversial governorship election in Anambra State, south-eastern Nigeria, has ended without a winner, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, said on Monday.

INEC said none of the three candidates secured enough votes to be declared winner of the controversial election.

The state Returning Officer, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof James Epoke said Willie Obiano of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, scored the highest number of votes cast but failed to secure enough votes to be declared winner.
